The latest Clinical Practice Recommendations from the American Diabetes Association emphasize screening, diagnostic, and therapeutic management practices that have been proven or agreed upon by experts to promote optimal health for patients with diabetes.

Alethea N. Hill is a clinical assistant professor, College of Nursing, at the University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL, and a doctoral student at the School of Nursing, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Cathy Roche is also a doctoral student at UAB, and Susan J. Appel is an associate professor at the School of Nursing, UAB.
