During the COVID-19 pandemic, much of our attention at JTI has been focused on the rapidly evolving research on imaging of COVID-19. From the first case reports to larger retrospective studies, our understanding of the imaging findings of COVID-19 and their respective clinical significance has quickly expanded. The current issue of JTI, May 2020, features three articles on COVID-19.  In a research letter by Dr. Brian Hurt and colleagues at University of California San Diego, the value of applying a pneumonia focused deep learning algorithm to chest radiography in the era of COVID-19 is highlighted. The other two articles illustrate some of the imaging manifestations of COVID-19 in patients from China.

The editorial team at JTI hopes these articles will inform our readers and encourage them to ask their own scholarly questions about how imaging can be used during and even after the COVID-19 pandemic.  Please note all COVID-19 articles are freely available in the current issue and in our growing collection of COVID-19 papers.
