Oticon's Personal AI Assistant Wins Two CES Innovation Awards

Oticon's (https://www.oticon.com/) personal AI assistant Kaizn has received a 2019 CES Best of Innovation Award in the software and mobile apps category and has been named a CES Innovation Honoree in the tech for a better world category. Kaizn collects and analyzes data about an individual's hearing aid use and listening environments to learn his or her behaviors and hearing preferences. It then uses them to provide real-time hearing aid recommendations and adjustments. Kaizn communicates with hearing aid wearers at key moments to learn what they want to gain from different sound environments. For example, Kaizn will contact a hearing aid wearer when he or she enters a noisy environment, like a loud restaurant, via a push notification, to ask whether “focus” or “comfort” is preferred in the scenario and adjust the user's settings. Over time, Kaizn will adjust the user's Opn hearing aid settings automatically when they enter similar noise environments. Oticon will preview Kaizn alongside its HearingFitness app and the Oticon Opn hearing aid at CES 2019 in Las Vegas.

CareCredit and MGMA Tackle Rising Medical Costs

CareCredit (https://www.carecredit.com/) has partnered with Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) to recognize the evolving role of the patient as a payer and the challenges providers face in managing their revenue cycle and helping patients pay for care. With CareCredit, members of MGMA, which represents more than 45,000 medical practice administrators, executives, and leaders across the country, can access a payment system that guarantees payment to providers in two business days with no recourse to the practice if the patient delays or defaults on payment. A key component of the partnership is sharing CareCredit's expertise in consumer health care payments with MGMA members. For example, CareCredit's proprietary research on generational trends in health care consumption was presented at this year's MGMA Annual Conference. Besides MGMA, CareCredit has also established relationships with the American Dental Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Osteopathic Information Association.
