Blueprint Releases Version 2

Blueprint Solutions, a software service for hearing healthcare providers, has released its OMS version 2.0, which delivers more functions like hearing aid inventory management, hearing aid trial and loaner management, accounts payable, improved accounts receivable functionality, more marketing options, and more search and patient display information. Clarity Announces Alto



Clarity has released Alto, an amplified home telephone, that meets the new Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) standard for sound amplification in telephones for people with hearing loss. The TIA-4953 standard establishes performance metrics for telephones serving individuals with mild, moderate, or severe hearing loss. Its purpose is to help verify how a specific model will aid them communicate on the telephone. Visit for more information.

Audina Announces Workshop

The 14th Annual Southeast Regional Continuing Education Workshop will be held January 25-26 at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary hotel. The workshop will feature presentations on technology, patient retention, HIPAA regulations, and loop systems, as well as required courses.

NASED Adds New Technicians and Names Board

The National Association of Special Equipment Distributors elected a new board and certified five new technicians at the American Academy of Audiology conference last March. NASED, a hearing testing equipment organization, trains technicians to meet compliance requirements for equipment calibration. They offered training sessions at the conference for new members and continuing education for existing technicians. Greg Ollick, Jr., of Med-Acoustics, was named the new president of NASED.

ReSound to Offer CEU Courses

ReSound has launched its own CEU training program for hearing healthcare professionals, offering 11 online courses worth 2.5 CEUs applicable for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology certification.

Participants can enroll in the program by visiting ReSound eCademy's self-registration web page. Customers must provide requested information shown in each course after completing the program to, and ReSound will submit the information to the appropriate accrediting agency.

HLAA Announces New President

Diana Bender, PhD, was named the president of the board of trustees of the Hearing Loss Association of America. She assumed her role during the annual convention in June. She has been a member of the HLAA since 1995, and began serving on the board of trustees in 2009, becoming secretary in 2010.

Starkey Researchers Present at Meeting

Twenty-five researchers represented Starkey Hearing Technologies at the biennial 2012 International Hearing Aid Research Conference. The researchers and authors collaborated on more than 12 posters and presented several lectures. Topics ranged from the effects of bilateral compression on spatial unmasking in hearing-impaired listeners to the optimization of loudness-restored hearing aid fittings. Visit for details.
