Material and Methods: The patient had a total thyroidectomy without evidence of malignancy. An iodine-131 scan was performed and located active thyroid tissue in thorax, abdomen, and pelvis. Conclusion: The diagnosis of malignant Struma Ovarii is controversial because of absence of uniform diagnostic criteria. © 2009 Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Inc.
