The surgical technique for total knee arthroplasty (TKA) as performed by the senior author is reviewed. Certain steps in the procedure are discussed in detail to provide insight into how these steps can be carried out more precisely with reproducible results. The method of cementing all three components with one mixture of cement is particularly helpful and time saving, which makes cemented fixation more attractive. As in any surgery, attention to detail and organization produces superior results.
