Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower. Steve Jobs

As I work my way through the latest Steve Jobs biography, I am struck by his fearlessness in embracing life-changing technology. He dared to take chances and even fail in order to advance his field. In this issue we have an enormous list of articles from a number of experienced practitioners who believe we are just scratching the surface on clinical uses of available biotechnology. Sheldon Lin has solicited the leaders in this space to expand the discussion of orthobiologics to practical foot and ankle. My belief is that these submissions will stimulate further research and help in our understanding of the next generation of techniques.

As always, this journal has sought to bridge the gap between the clinician and the innovator; in no other issue have we succeeded so well. Enjoy and, if I may be so bold, dare to be a leader in foot and ankle.
