The Gastrocnemius Slide Procedure Using the Piecrust Technique

The gastrocnemius slide procedure is being used increasingly as a primary and adjunct procedure for the treatment of many foot disorders. A piecrusting of the gastrocnemius-soleus complex just below the muscle bellies of the gastrocnemius muscle appears to be a safe way to obtain a controlled lengthening of this musculotendinous unit.
