In Brief:
The present community-based, cross-sectional study determined the prevalence of low back pain (LBP) among middle-aged and elderly Korean community residents. The lifetime prevalence of LBP was 53.8%, with a higher prevalence in women. Risk factors associated with LBP included advanced age, female sex, and squatting, and the presence of osteophytes, joint space narrowing, and advanced Kellgren-Lawrence grading on lumbar radiograph.
