In Brief:
A segmental partial laminectomy was performed to remove the ligmentum flavum and the superior edge of the lower lamina. In comparison with traditional C3 to C7 expansive open-door laminoplasty, the clinical outcome of the segmental partial laminectomy was the same, but the maintenance of the sagittal alignment and the range of motion was better, while, in addition, postoperative neck, and/or shoulder complaints also seemed to decrease.
