ABSTRACTIn this paper, the author proposes a theory by which the distribution of ions in a double layer terminated by an air-water interface can be calculated. The quantitative relationship obtained by this theory between concentration of ions at an air-water interface and film thickness is more reasonable than those calculated by others.
