Unique Features Distinguishing Rehabilitation Oncology

Rehabilitation Oncology exists to disseminate knowledge to advance the science and clinical practice of oncologic physical therapy and cancer rehabilitation. The readership of Rehabilitation Oncology is primarily comprised of oncologic physical therapist clinicians and cancer rehabilitation research experts. This is a uniquely dedicated community and Rehabilitation Oncology is their journal. The reviewer pool draws heavily from specialists in this community with demonstrated content expertise, and for that reason the reviewers have a strong dedication to the quality of journal content. The editorial board and reviewer pool are deeply committed to high standards and rigor in the peer review process with an eye toward providing feedback that will strengthen the authors’ reports.  This dedication manifests as outstanding reviews and guidance intended to maximize the impact of the journal content. The core journal articles include original research as well as integration and interpretation from the diverse areas of study that contribute to the science underlying the physical therapy management of persons with functional deficits due to pediatric and adult cancer, lymphedema and HIV/AIDS.  To augment the core article content, Rehabilitation Oncology also offers digital media in the form of online videos, audio podcasts, and social media that further the goal of translating knowledge from the bench to the bedside. Digital materials are formatted for use on personal digital devices, allowing clinicians to access research information in daily practice.
