Christian Chartier is a fourth-year medical student at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, a clinical researcher in plastic surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts and a data scientist interested in the safe adoption of artificial intelligence in surgery. At the time of recording he was an applicant to residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

He is introduced by co-author Lisa Gfrerer, MD, PhD, who – at the time of recording- was the current Advanced Peripheral Nerve and Microsurgery Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital/ Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, as well as the Resident Representative to the Board of ASPS and the PSF.
