PROGPREVMED, the official journal of the European Society of Preventive Medicine (ESPREVMED), is an open access, peer reviewed journal which aims to publish high quality research that contributes to implementing preventive, personalized, predictive and participatory (P4) medicine. P4 medicine represents a move from models of reacting to illness to maintaining health and a pro-active health care approach; prolonging the healthspan is a primary goal of this new model.
PROGPREVMED publishes high-quality original articles, commissioned reviews, commentaries, brief communications, and letters to the Editor. The Journal follows a translational approach 'From Cell to Community' – addressing and including all aspects from basic research, to clinical medicine to public health with a focus on systems-based and interdisciplinary approaches.

In conjunction with the Editor-in-Chief, Michael Sagner M.D., ESPREVMED and Wolters Kluwer are delighted to announce that PROGPREVMED is indexed by The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
DOAJ is a community-curated list of open access journals and aims to be the starting point for all information searches for quality, peer reviewed open access material. To assist libraries and indexers keep their lists up-to-date, they make public a list of journals that have been accepted into or removed from DOAJ. The aim of the DOAJ is to increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals, thereby promoting their increased usage and impact. The DOAJ aims to be comprehensive and cover all open access scientific and scholarly journals that use a quality control system to guarantee the content. In short, the DOAJ aims to be the one-stop shop for users of open access journals.
