About the Society

The International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) is a global, multidisciplinary, non-governmental organisation that promotes access to appropriate and equitable rehabilitation, mobility devices and other assistive technology to improve the quality of life for people with reduced mobility.

ISPO aims to further its mission by facilitating knowledge exchange, professional education, and innovative and appropriate technology development, promoting quality, multidisciplinary care, research and evidence-based practice, and fostering international collaboration and consensus.

The Society has approximately 3,000 members of different professional disciplines in over 100 countries, the majority of which are organised in ISPO Member Societies: prosthetists and orthotists, prosthetic and orthotic (P&O) technicians, orthopedic surgeons, rehabilitation doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, orthopedic shoemakers, nurses and biomechanical/rehabilitation engineers.
