MacMillan, Donna BS, MT (ASCP), MBA

Article

Tests performed at the point of care are a valuable extension of the laboratory service. There are many published studies on the cost to provide this service. Organizations face many challenges in billing for point-of-care tests, including the ability to accurately capture information and familiarity with regulatory and payer guidelines. Billing for pointof-care testing can generate revenue to offset some or all of the expenses for the service.
