Although it is hard to remember how we managed a point-of-care testing program without the level of sophistication that is now available, it was only 10 years ago that creative minds came together to write the connectivity standards that would bring efficiency into these programs. This article discusses how the outcomes of the Connectivity Industry Consortium have contributed to the efficiency of a large health system's point-of-care testing program. The impact has made a mark on the overall delivery of care.
