After a rhinoplasty, your nose should be perfectly straight and symmetrical, right? Many times, nasal asymmetry can remain uncorrected after a nose surgery.

Rod J. Rohrich, MD, Editor-in-Chief of "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery," discusses a new classification system of nasal anatomy which was developed to help plastic surgeons better plan for each patients’ unique nasal deviations and reduce the need for secondary operations.

Read the June 2020 PRS #PlasticSurgery article, "Practical Classification of Upper Lateral Cartilage in Middle Vault Asymmetry" Hafezi, Naghipour, Naghibzadeh, Ashtiani, and Forghani.

Facial feminization surgery (FFS) can serve as a critical role in gender affirmation. But there is little data that tracks FFS patients long-term after their operations.

Rod J. Rohrich, MD, Editor-in-Chief of "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery," discusses a new prospective study that gathered feedback from the patients and outsiders, studied outcomes, and performed statistical analyses throughout the surgical process in order to truly understand how FFS affects quality of life for transfeminine people.

Read the June 2020 PRS #PlasticSurgery article, "Prospective Quality-of-Life Outcomes after Facial Feminization Surgery: An International Multicenter Study" Morrison, Capitán-Cañadas, Sánchez-García, Ludwig, Massie, Nolan, Swanson, Rodríguez-Conesa, Friedrich, Cederna, Bellinga, Simon, Capitán and Satterwhite.

One of the major advances in current techniques for surgical rejuvenation of the aging face is the combination of volumetric enhancement in conjunction with facial fat repositioning via the SMAS. Volume addition provides for the correction of facial deflation as well as restoring the volumetric highlights seen in the youthful face, and in conjunction with fat repositioning provides the surgeon with the consistent ability to create and restore facial shape. This video demonstrates the use of autologous fat injection placed at the initial stage of a facelift to restore volumetric highlights and correct deflation. The technical nuances of injection and patient safety are emphasized.
