FOURTH CONGRESS OF THE WORLD ASSOCIATION FOR PLASTIC SURGEONS OF CHINESE DESCENT

The Fourth Congress of the World Association for Plastic Surgeons of Chinese Descent will be held November 6 through 8, 2014, at the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Jockey Club Building in Hong Kong. Lecturers will include Drs. Yinlin Cao, David Chiu, Foad Nahai, and Fu-Chan Wei. The official language will be English. (Oral presentations may be done in English or in Mandarin Chinese, but slides are required to be in English.) ABPS ANNOUNCES THE NEXT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The American Board of Plastic Surgery is pleased to announce the selection of Keith E. Brandt, M.D., of St. Louis, Mo., as the next Executive Director. Dr. Brandt replaced R. Barrett Noone, M.D., on August 1, 2015. Dr. Noone will have served 18 years as the Board's Executive Director. Dr. Brandt will work with Dr. Noone in a 2-year transition period until he takes over in 2015. The Board’s office will remain in Philadelphia. Dr. Brandt served as a director of the Board from 2007 to 2013. He was the Chair of the Maintenance of Certification Examination Committee from 2010 to 2013, and was instrumental in the refinement of the Board’s Maintenance of Certification Program. He also served on the Executive, Written Examination, Ethics, and Budget/Finance committees. Dr. Brandt’s academic appointments include the William G. Hamm Professor of Surgery and program director of the plastic surgery residency and the hand fellowship program at Washington University School of Medicine. He will resign his positions as program director so that he can focus on the Executive Director position but will maintain his full-time clinical faculty appointment at Washington University, St. Louis. He has also served in leadership positions for a number of plastic surgery societies.
