Writing this editorial is, of course, challenging. It will appear in issue 3, 2020, which will be published July 2. Two months from now the world will be a different place. Our roles as professionals, parents, family and community members, and members of our world community have been challenged and will continue to be so. I wish you and all of your loved ones, indeed, all of our world community, health and peace.

We can take inspiration from the article recapturing Dr Doreen Bartlett's message in the second “Ann Van Sant Global Scientific Writing Lectureship,” which she gave at the Combined Sections Meeting in Denver, Colorado in February of this year. Dr Bartlett describes her transition from clinician to scientist and scholar. She emphasizes the importance of mentors in our lives and the importance of taking on the responsibility of caring for our colleagues and peers. This seems especially poignant just now.

Dr Longo and colleagues report on the perceptions of children with cerebral palsy and their attitudes toward leisure activities. I applaud this team and other clinicians and research teams that focus on listening to children and their families. They are the reason for our profession.

As you see from our cover, the Academy has a new color and new logo. The new branding is in line with APTA guidelines. The green color is a joyful reminder of spring and summer. I hope the joy continues.
