The development of EUS-guided FNA biopsy techniques, which aims to obtain a histological core of tissue, has many potential benefits compared with EUS-FNA. The goals of this review are to review the need, indications, and techniques for EUS-FNA biopsy and review the current literature as it pertains to pancreatic disease.
