Single cell sequencing has revealed new details about diversity of somatosensory neurons. Here we developed a relatively straightforward approach for classifying neurons in tissue sections. We automated the approach using a custom deep-learning algorithm. We then used the approach to explore the significance of neuronal transcriptomic class in the trigeminal system.
