Feature Issue: Advances in Scleral Lenses

Optometry and Vision Science is a leading publisher of clinical and early translational contact lens research. Scleral lenses continue to gain attention and grow in use as innovations in lens materials and novel lens designs allow these lenses to be worn safely, comfortably, and on a regular basis. Scleral lenses are also commonly used for patients with corneal irregularities, dry eye, and complex refractive errors. These advances present a timely opportunity to bring new ideas, and evidence together in a feature issue focused on current research and the latest discoveries in scleral lenses, to inform the community of clinicians, investigators, designers, and patients about these advances, and to promote and inspire additional thinking on this topic.
