The speed of VHA contributes to its clinical utility as they help diagnose coagulopathy and guide treatment in real-time for maternal patients. This paper investigates current VHA guidelines in postpartum hemorrhage (PPH; defined as blood loss of ≥500 mL within 24 h of delivery) situations, and it reviews recent literature regarding VHA device use when managing postpartum hemostatic competence profiles of women with PPH.
