Even in low-risk centers, pregnancies can become complicated seriously and quickly, without time to obtain diagnostic help from specialists. While ultrasound has been routinely used in fetal monitoring, it can also be a useful tool in maternal bedside diagnosis and screening. This report reviewed the use of ultrasound in assessing patients’ gastric contents and airways, managing breathless patients, diagnosing shock, and predicting fluid responsiveness.
