This study was a follow-up study to the prospective randomized controlled trial comparing metformin versus insulin. In particular, it compared the body composition and metabolic outcomes at 7 to 9 years of children born to women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) randomized to metformin (±insulin) or insulin treatment during pregnancy.
