NURSES CAN SHARE these online resources to educate patients with prostate cancer with fact sheets, healthy-living tools, local support groups, and more.

American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society website provides patients with current information, including prevention and detection facts, treatment options, and the latest news. Online, patients will also find information on the Road to Recovery program, which offers patients transportation to and from treatment.

CancerCare offers patients free counseling and other professional support and can provide financial assistance through its Financial Assistance Program and Co-Payment Assistance Foundation. The site also offers a searchable database to help patients find additional local and national resources to help with financial or practical needs.

National Cancer Institute

Patients interested in learning more about prostate cancer and available treatments can visit the National Cancer Institute's website to access printable fact sheets. Visitors will also find information on prostate cancer causes and prevention, screening, and the latest research.

Prostate Cancer Foundation

The Prostate Cancer Foundation can help patients locate an appropriate healthcare provider or treatment center near them. It also provides information to help patients and their families better understand their diagnosis, including risk factors, signs and symptoms, prevention strategies, and screening facts.

This nonprofit organization offers those affected by prostate cancer, including female caregivers, peer support and educational materials. Patients can call the Us TOO Prostate Cancer HelpLine to speak with a volunteer who has had similar experiences.
