Dr. Camille Payne describes her study in which laboratory faculty developed a creative strategy to reduce student stress during assessment of skills. Mock competencies were structured for students to participate in peer-to-peer evaluations in simulated competency assessments. Peer evaluation improved first-round pass rates for skills competency assessments. Dr. Payne also shares strategies for nurse educators to develop their scholarship and some practical tips for getting support from other colleagues.
