Effects of the ELNEC Graduate Curriculum on Nurse Practitioner Students' Perceptions of Primary Palliative Care Competency

The End-Of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Graduate curriculum teaches advanced practice nursing students the best clinical practice for palliative and end-of-life care. The authors developed a curriculum initiative to integrate the ELNEC Graduate curriculum's learning objectives and examined changes in students' perceptions of their primary palliative care competency. Detailed evaluation of this educational initiative shows that the ELNEC Graduate curriculum significantly improved NP students' perceptions of their competency with primary palliative care tasks.
