A 78-year-old woman with hypotension and syncope was referred for Tc-99m labeled RBC scintigraphy for possible gastrointestinal bleeding. Scintigraphy showed slow, progressive accumulation at the periphery of the large photopenic region in the left abdomen. There is no peristalsis of activity. This case illustrates the findings of extraluminal intra-abdominal bleeding by RBC scintigraphy.
