A 41-year-old woman had a history of familial adenomatous polyposis of the colon. She recently reported lower abdominal pain when moving her bowels. Ga-67 citrate scintigraphy demonstrated an area of increased uptake in the lower pelvis and diffusely increased uptake in the ascending and transverse colon on whole-body and spot images. A barium enema study showed multiple polyps in the entire colon with focal area of concentric narrowing and mucosal irregularity at the sigmoid colon. Biopsy of the lesion in the sigmoid colon revealed well-differentiated adenocarcinoma.
