Patients with AIDS have a significant number of gastrointestinal infections caused by a variety of opportunistic organisms. The detection of such Infections significantly decreases the morbidity and/or mortality in these patients. The authors report a patient with persistent colonic activity on Ga-67 scintigraphy, that was proven to be Schistosoma Mansoni colitis.
