The use of sequential radionuclide procedures is demonstrated in the evaluation of a postoperative patient with suspected intra-abdominal infection. A sulfurcolloid liver scan and orally administered 99mTc-sodium pertechnetate were used to supplement a gallium scan in the delineation of a left upper quadrant mass that proved to be a hematoma.
