Lifestyle Profiling in High School Athletes

summary

Multiple lifestyle factors can have a direct effect on athletic performance. This column presents guidelines for evaluating these lifestyle factors in the athletes we train. By monitoring these areas, we can better manage the athlete and have a positive effect on athletic performance.

Ian Jeffreys is currently Director of Sport Science and Athletic Performance at Coleg Powys in Brecon, Wales, United Kingdom. He is the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Welsh Schools Rugby Union National Team at under 16 level.
