summary

The purpose of this feature is to present a case for placing Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) in a strength and conditioning facility; discuss the application, operation, and use of AEDs; and discuss the legal implications relating to the strength coach. In addition this article will discuss implementing an AED program and the availability of AEDs.

Helen Binkley is the undergraduate athletic training education program director at Middle Tennessee State University and current National Strength and Conditioning Association board of directors member.

Kevin Hollandsworth is a senior athletic training student at Mesa State College, Grand Junction, CO.
