Neurology® Genetics — A Call for Papers
The latest journal in the Neurology collection of publications is now accepting submissions!
Scheduled to launch in April 2015, Neurology: Genetics is an open access journal that will feature original articles in all areas of neurogenetics including:
- Rare and common genetic variation, and genotype-phenotype correlations
- Outlier phenotypes as a result of mutations in known disease genes
- Genetic variations with a putative link to diseases
- Studies reporting on genetic disease risk and pharmacogenomics
In addition, the journal will publish results of gene-based clinical trials (viral, allele-specific oligonucleotide, among others). Genetically engineered model systems are not a primary focus of Neurology: Genetics, but studies using model systems for treatment trials, including well-powered studies reporting negative results, are welcome.
Each issue will also contain invited review articles, editorial commentaries, Clinical/Scientific Notes, and reader correspondence.
The publication, which will publish six editions per year, will be fully compliant with open access mandates and will be available in PubMed Central in fall 2015.
Stefan M. Pulst, MD, FAAN, editor of Neurology: Genetics, is professor and chair of the department of neurology at the University of Utah. Dr. Pulst is a member of the Board of Directors for the AAN and AAN Institute, and is a past chair of the Academy's Science Committee, among other leadership roles. His current research focuses on the mechanisms of neuronal degeneration using molecular and cellular approaches as well as studies in animals.
