- The exercise guidelines recommend 150 minutes/week of combined training (CT), aerobic and resistance exercises, for improvements in body composition (BC), muscle strength (MS) and physical function (PF). However, the lack of time and access to physical training facilities are commons barriers for people not to comply with the exercise guidelines.- The high-intensity interval training (60 minutes/week - HIIT) is an exercise strategy to overcome the time commitment problem. However, there is no evidence regarding the HIIT effects on MS and PF.- This study compared the effects of HIIT with CT on PF, BC and MS in obese postmenopausal women.
