ONGOING COLUMNS: Global Health and Nursing

Despite significant and long-standing efforts by the World Health Organization to promote vaccination of all children in the world, measles remains a major risk of adverse outcomes. In the United States in 2019, there are several measles outbreaks, generally in areas where many parents opt out of the recommended vaccines for their children. Our global health nursing expert, Dr. Callister, offers an update on the current measles outbreak in the United States and around the world.
