The authors of an article in the December 2009 issue of The Journal of Trauma would like to correct the odds ratio value cited in a table.

In the original article, indicates that the odds-ratio calculated risk of being witness to or directly involved in a hunting-related accident when consuming more than two units of alcohol is 0.47. However, this value is incorrect, due to use of the wrong reference category in the logistic regression analysis.

After manually recalculating this odds ratio, the authors have since found that increased alcohol intake significantly increases risk of involvement with a hunting-related accident (OR: 2.11, CL: 1.12–3.76, 95% CI). The relevant section of in the published article should read:
