This video describes the initial development of the Clinical Functional Impairment Scale (CFIS). The CFIS was developed because of the lack of an efficient and flexible measure of functional outcomes in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. We describe the importance of shared-decision-making in the clinical use of the CFIS. Focus groups and qualitative methods were used to establish content validity. Inter-rater reliability was assessed with a convenience sample of DBP clinicians who responded to a survey on the SDBP Discussion Board in which case vignettes were presented. The video describes future development and goals for dissemination of the CFIS.
