As this is my final issue as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics, I’d like to take the opportunity to offer my thanks to the many people who have aided me in my tenure. First, I’d like to thank the Academy for having the confidence in my abilities to extend me this opportunity. I’d also like to thank the current Editorial Board, as well as those individuals who have served in reviewer positions over the past four years. Their input, opinions, and suggestions have been invaluable.

I’d also like to thank my two Managing Editors, Ellen Haight and Miki Fairley, who have managed to achieve the Herculean task of keeping me organized, informed and on time. Their contributions have made for a successful publishing partnership with Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins.

I also am excited to leave, in my opinion, on such a high note as is being provided for with this current issue. The submissions from the members of the Upper Extremity Society of the Academy mark the pinnacle in current research and patient care. This issue has been very challenging to put together, but also rewarding, and I am proud of the standard it will set for the issues that follow.

I have enjoyed this position, and hopefully have served the profession by elevating the level of published research in the field of orthotics and prosthetics.

I now wish the best of luck to all those who will continue on in the future of the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics.
