To quantify the results of projects supported by the PAEA's research grants program.
Principal investigators for PAEA grants from 2000 to 2006 were surveyed. Data were sought on completed projects, level of support provided by the PAEA grants, types of products produced from the grant projects, project stimulus provided by availability of grant funds, and plans to apply for future grants. Results were analyzed by sums, percentages, and measures of central tendency.
Eighty-five percent (n=35) of the principal investigators responded, which covered 89% of the funded grants. Eightytwo percent of the projects had been completed, producing 104 products that included dissertations, theses, presentations, posters, and publications.
The PAEA research grants program has been successful in stimulating educational research and scholarly activity and has resulted in an impressive number of scholarly products.
