The International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA) is pleased to announce the launch of the Journal of Vascular Anomalies (JOVA), an international, open access, peer reviewed journal. JOVA is dedicated to the scientific discovery and report of the investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of congenital and acquired human vascular lesions. Under the guidance of our multidisciplinary international editorial team, this contemporary journal aims to provide up-to-date information on vascular anomalies. This includes articles procured from a broad array of medical, surgical, radiologic and scientific disciplines in the spirit of a multidisciplinary approach to understanding and managing vascular disorders.
JOVA is now accepting manuscripts at its submission site. Manuscript submissions are open to all physicians, researchers, and health care providers in the clinical and biologic vascular sciences. The journal's focus includes novel approaches, evidence-based research, critical reviews, case reports, and emerging science.
Overview:
Vascular anomalies are disorders of vascular development that are often present at, or seen shortly, after birth. Vascular Anomalies are subdivided into two broad categories based upon their clinical, radiographic, and histologic presentation. The accepted nomenclature used to describe the variety of vascular anomalies is codified in the recently revised ISSVA classification scheme. Manuscripts submitted to JOVA are expected to use the ISSVA classification scheme in naming vascular lesions for consistency and accuracy of reporting. The scheme can be accessed here
