Ethical approval: For the second victim study, no ethical approval is needed. According to the regulations in Dutch hospitals, the survey’s instructions clearly mentioned that completing the questionnaire implied informed consent to participate. The ethical approval for the COVID study was approved by the ethical committee of the University Hospitals Leuven (S63914). Participation was entirely voluntary, and confidentiality and anonymity were guaranteed at all times.
