The Journal of Pediatric Surgical Nursing (JPSN) celebrates its fifth year this January 2019! Congratulations to our much appreciated APSNA members, JPSN Editorial Board, APSNA Editorial Board, authors, and reviewers! We couldn't do it without you!

I would personally like to thank Lippincott's Senior Publisher, Kathleen Phelan, for helping with my vision of beginning JPSN as an electronic quarterly journal not only for APSNA but also as a way for our accomplished pediatric surgical nurses and advanced practice providers to disseminate their knowledge, research, and expertise globally. This would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of your JPSN Editorial Board. I am excited that our Editorial Board is growing and that we are able to have international representation as well.

JPSN has steadily grown with over 4,000 visits per year and over 2,000 international visits. As we recognized the increase in visits to our obesity column and articles, we established a permanent collection of obesity articles during National Childhood Obesity Month in September 2018. Obesity articles published in JPSN during the past 5 years are listed under the Collections tab on the home page of JPSN. We hope you enjoy the ease with which you can access these articles.

JPSN has continually updated its Web site over the past 5 years adding more information and tutorials for our authors and reviewers. We are also extremely proud of the only Journal Mentorship Program in the United States headed by Nancy Tkacz Browne. Please consider publishing in JPSN even if you are a first-time author by utilizing our JPSN author mentoring service.

This past year, we had over 250 people take part in our Contact Hour education articles. In addition, our great panel of peer reviewers for submitted manuscripts received the additional benefit of free CEs for reviewing submissions. The peer review process is essential for our journal to assure its readers of the latest and most accurate knowledge and innovations through publishing.

As we begin our next 5-year contract with Lippincott Publishing, we welcome a new publisher—Lauren Skomorucha! I am excited to have Lauren on board with her extensive knowledge of electronic journals and social media. Please remember to retweet @JPSNjournal and like us on Facebook! To continue with our growth, we encourage all APSNA members and colleagues to disseminate by authoring for JPSN, volunteering to be peer reviewers for our excellent manuscripts, and to cite articles already published in JPSN that are pertinent to their topic. Thank you for your readership, authorship, and reviewer expertise. We look forward to even more growth in the next 5 years!
