Helen Vandenberg, PhD(c), RN, is a Doctoral Candidate at the University of British Columbia School of Nursing, Vancouver, Canada.

Sonya Grypma, PhD, RN, is a Nurse Historian and Professor of nursing at Trinity Western University in Langley, Canada. Her second book China Interrupted: Japanese internment and the reshaping of a Canadian missionary community was released in 2012.
