Bigony, Lorraine

doi: 10.1097/01.CNJ.0000326270.16988.04

A 2004 survey reports that as few as 29% of nurses admit to having offered, suggested, or provided spiritual care for patients.

Nurses are in key positions to address spiritual needs. But sometimes, referral is needed.

Lorraine Bigony, BSN, RN, is a perioperative nurse at Frankford Hospitals Bucks County Campus in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. She is a catechetical instructor for St. Cyril of Jerusalem Parish in Jamison, Pennsylvania.
