Editor in chief is in complete overall charge of the journal .EIC will receive the manuscripts, assign them to the associate editors for their critical technical review, to reject any article which do not come under the scope of the journal, to accept or reject articles after the review, to have contact with the publishers and the office, and to select articles for each issue, to conduct the final editorial review before publication, to conduct correspondence and take suitable action in cases of scientific misconduct and to guide the associate editors in their work.

Associate Editors
Associate editors are mostly specialists in Internal Medicine as this is a journal of Internal Medicine, but can be sub specialists also. Once they are assigned the article by the chief editor, they go through the article and do a technical review which consists of whether the article has been written according to the instructions to the authors, the word count is there as required, whether the ethical review has been done, conflicts of interest declared, whether the first page file and the article files are as per the journal’s norms. If found deficient, they will send the article back to the authors for corrections and receive the articles back from the authors. Once this is done, they send the articles to two reviewers for review and get back the articles from the reviewers with their observations. These are sent to the authors again for corrections. This process goes on until the reviewers accept the article or reject the article. The associate editors after the opinion of the reviewers either recommend to the chief editor to either accept or reject.
