ACOEM to Conduct Annual Election Electronically

The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) will, for the first time, conduct its annual election for the Board of Directors electronically. This landmark action was approved by the ACOEM Board of Directors at its summer meeting.

The new process means that those members eligible to vote will no longer receive a ballot and biographical candidate sketch by mail. All election information – ballot and biographical sketches – will now be available on line and can be accessed through the ACOEM web site beginning November 1. (In accordance with the ACOEM bylaws, election materials will be made available to eligible ACOEM members no later than November 1. Voting must conclude by December 15.)

Eligible members who do not have e-mail or Internet access, can still vote. Call the ACOEM Membership Services Department at 847/818-1800 (press 1 at the prompt) for further details.

As in previous elections, the new electronic method will be conducted using measures of the strictest confidentiality.
