Having accepted the baton of Editor-in-Chief from Professor Anju Grewal, I would first like to acknowledge the contributions of Prof Anju and her editorial team in making and maintaining the quality, standard, and reputation of the Journal of Anaesthesiology and Clinical Pharmacology, JOACP. It is also appropriate at this juncture to appreciate the efforts and contributions of her predecessors Dr. Tej K Kaul and Dr. Mukul Kapoor, and the vision of Dr. HL Kaul, who laid the foundations of this journal, at a time when there was a dearth of good-quality journals on Anaesthesia, particularly in the subcontinent. I thank the Governing Council of the Research Society of Anaesthesiology and Clinical Pharmacology (RSACP), for entrusting me with the responsibility of carrying forward the JOACP through its next few milestones. Dr. Naveen Malhotra, President Elect, JOACP, has been generous with his support, motivation, and advice on the journal's future evolution. We look forward to seeing this Journal indexed in the Medline database and its visibility substantiated with an Impact Factor.
The popularity of this journal can be judged by the large number of submissions, handling of which is a herculean task, and all efforts will be made by the Editorial Team to progress the submissions in a timebound manner. It is also planned to increase the frequency of the journal from quarterly, to bimonthly.
The task of Section Editors and Reviewers is of paramount importance to maintain the article processing timelines. I appreciate the valuable contribution made by them, as it is because of their work that the quality and relevance of the published articles is maintained. Beginning with this issue, we will acknowledge and publish the names of contributing editors and reviewers. I would also like to invite my younger colleagues to volunteer their time as Reviewers for JOACP.
The publishing team at Wolters-Kluwer-Medknow is on their toes to tackle the initial hiccups being encountered due to change in the online platform for article processing, and I am confident that the system will become smooth and user friendly very soon.
I look forward to working with all of you, to meet our vision of realizing a Journal which effectively documents the data and outcomes of the research activities of our fraternity in support of evidence-based practices in our discipline. Thank you!
